Who We Are

Camp Illahaw is a coed sleep-away summer horseback and adventure camp for kids 10-15 years old, owned and operated by the not-for-profit Allen Broussard Conservancy. Camp Illahaw has been enriching the lives of kids in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment since 2005.

Young people 16 and 17 years old don’t have to miss out. They can attend at a discounted rate by taking part in our unique Counselor-In-Training program, in which they learn the necessary skills to later become counselors themselves.

Why Camp Illahaw?

Where else can you stay on a real working cattle ranch, ride a real Florida Cracker horse descended from the first horses ever to come to America, and perhaps even try your hand at herding America’s first cattle, just like America’s very first cowboys did here hundreds of years ago?

Where else can you find an eco-adventure park just a short walk from camp with the only zipline rollercoaster in the U.S., a quarter-mile-long racing zip line, a 10-tower zipline tour, and a 7-story leap that will help you find courage you didn’t know you had?

Where else can you roam 4,700 acres of Florida wilderness with nine different native ecosystems and endless opportunities to observe wildlife and learn about the natural world.

Where else will you find such a caring, well-trained international staff of counselors, who will make your camping experience safe, fun, inclusive and enriching? All camp employees are certified in CPR and First Aid annually. As required by Florida State Law they are also fingerprinted and verified through the FBI and Child Protective Services.

Where else do you get so much fun and adventure for such an affordable price?
